Monique's Salon Nominated for the Small Business of the Year


Monique's Salon has been Nominated for the 2008 Small Business of the Year by the Spokane Valley Chamber

Spokane Valley, WA - January 13th, 2009 - Monique Smith, owner of Monique's Salon in Spokane Valley, Wa and Bellevue, Wa was recently nominated 2008 Small Business of the Year by the Spokane Valley Chamber.

The Spokane Valley Chamber accepts nominations every year to honor one Small Business in Spokane Valley.

The winner of the award will be honored at the Spokane Valley Awards Gala on January 25th, 2009 at the Mirabeau Park Hotel.

Monique Smith Nominated for Community Care

Monique Smith, Owner of Monique's Salon has been Nominated for the 2008 Community Care Award by the Spokane Valley Chamber

The Spokane Valley Chamber accepts nominations and nominates companies and individuals who stand out in the community for their accomplishements and recognizes them for the outstanding compassion and contributions to the community.

Monique Smith is a board member for Wigs For Kids. Wigs for Kids is a non-profit organization that provides wigs and hair pieces to children in need, no matter their financial background. Currently Monique Smith is creating 50 wigs per year for our local children. Monique is also a sponsor for Inland Northwest Candlelighters. Inland Northwest Candlelighters is an organization that helps our local children and their families when a child is diagnosed with cancer, because kids can't fight cancer alone. Monique also donates one custom wig per quarter to a child of Inland Northwest Candellighters choice.

Monique and her staff at Monique's Salon help sponsor one young girl in the Miss Spokane Valley Ambassador program and help the girls with their hair and makeup the night of the coronation.

Monique has recognized a need in this economic time to help men, women and child with image services. Currently, once per month a local resident is chosen to have a complete makeover by Monique's Salon and strategic partners within the community. The makeover could include, hair services, hair pieces if necessary, waxing, makeup, teeth whitening and much more.

Monique is a silver sponsor to the Spokane Valley Chamber. She supports all of the local schools, chairties, fundraisers and local businesses through donations and auction items.

The winner of this award will be honored at the Spokane Valley Awards Gala on January 24th, 2009 at the Mirabeau Park Hotel.

SBA Nomination Update


As of January 1st, Monique Smith was one of the finalist for the SBA Washington State Small Business Person of the Year! She is in the top three and we will keep you posted as soon as we know!
